|Condition assessment comment:
||Water levels okay and edges of reservoir well-maintained. The BTO WeBS recorded an over-wintering goosander population of 60 for the 08-09 season and a decline over recent years. However the population has not fallen below the minimum peak population recorded in the years preceding designation (50 in 1983-4), therefore it still meets the threshold for favourable condition using the 'known natural fluctuation approach' to condition assessment (under JNCC CSM Guidance for Birds). The population decline also reflects a national decline in overwintering goosander. The feature therefore remains in favourable condition.
