How to get there: From the A6 (just south of Belper town centre) take the A609 toward Ripley. Turn right into Coppice Car Park to access the reserve on foot. Alternatively park in Mill Lane or Melbourne Close for disabled and pedestrian access.
Visitor facilities: A network of footpaths around the reserve. Information board by the footpath from Coppice Car Park. Leaflets available from Groundwork, local libraries and Tourist Information Centres. Events held throughout the year. Two areas of amenity grassland for recreation are blended with valuable wildlife habitats. The site won a Green Flag Award in 2009
What to see: The reserve contributes to the Lowland Derbyshire Biodiversity Action Plan and habitats includes broad leaved woodland, scrub, semi-improved acid and neutral grassland and wetland.

In the woodland look for celandine, wood anenome and bluebell and in the grassland betony, black knapweed, lady's mantle, tormentil and rough hawkbit.
Volunteer and 'Friends of' groups: Friends of Belper Parks Group help manage the site. The reserve is often used for conservation activities and guided walks, organised with the help of Groundwork.
